Mayors from Republic of Moldova elected/appointed during the years 1995-2017

Between 1995 and 2017, 6 general local elections and 36 new local elections took place in the Republic of Moldova. In the respective local elections, 5 161 people were elected as mayors. Another 101 mayors were appointed by 5 decrees of the President of the Republic of Moldova from 10 May to 27 October 1995.

Structure and date details

The Mayor’s data from the Republic of Moldova between 1995 and 2017 were collected and processed manually from official sources. The data contains the following basic columns:

1. *CUATM – Unique code for identifying the locality,
2. Town hall,
3. District,
4. Surname, name
5. Gender,
6. Party or political affiliation,
7. Type of Elections,
8. Date of Elections

* For the convenience of using the data, for each town hall was introduced the unique identification code of the locality from the Classifier of the territorial-administrative units of Moldova (CUATM).
